Meet the Artist
Upcycled glass flowers, crafted for a cause
I’m Mary Kay—artist, thrifter, gardener, and animal lover
Flower to the 2nd Power bloomed in 2017 after I retired from corporate life and sought to combine these lifelong passions. I've always found joy in giving forgotten treasures a second life, seeing beauty in objects others might overlook. After a year of experimentation in my Seattle studio, I developed a technique that transforms vintage glassware into garden sculptures that feel both organic and enchanted—blooms that never fade.
Breathing new life into vintage treasures
Wandering through thrift stores, I search for glass pieces with unique character and vibrant colors. There's magic in seeing potential where others see outdated dishware, knowing these objects will soon bring joy in a new form.

Building blooms that endure
Every glass element is precision-drilled and mounted on a sturdy steel rod with steel nuts, creating a secure foundation that withstands the elements. The signature copper stems are hand-bent and soldered to integrate seamlessly with the glass components, creating an organic appearance that looks beautiful from every angle.
10% of profits from each sale support animal welfare
Rex, my canine studio assistant, reminds me daily why supporting animal welfare matters so much. That's why 10% of profits from every sale goes directly to organizations helping animals in need, creating beauty that ripples outward to make a meaningful difference.
